NATURE ON OUR MIND
SHOHEI's vision is to allow nature's inherent intelligence to speak for itself, intervening only where necessary to thoughtfully integrate it into contemporary, ever evolving collections.
By embracing the latest advancements in innovative materials and technologies, SHOHEI creates fashion that is progressive, refined, and forward-thinking.
Our mission is to design eco-conscious contemporary collections that resonate with a global community of discerning, future-focused individuals.

Born in Tokyo, SHOHEI's central to this vision is the thoughtful selection of responsible materials that unite innovation, performance, and environmental consciousness.
We work with next-generation textiles including wood fibre Lyocell TENCEL™, organic cotton, bamboo-derived fabrics, recycled polyester, and vegan apple leather, each chosen for its reduced environmental impact and exceptional quality.
The collections further explore the beauty of natural dyeing traditions through the use of Kakishibu persimmon dye and green tea dye, creating rich, organic tones while minimizing the reliance on synthetic chemical processes. These materials and techniques are combined with contemporary silhouettes, precision tailoring, and fluid, architectural cuts that balance functionality with understated elegance.

Through the harmonious integration of natural intelligence, advanced material innovation, and modern design, SHOHEI continues to redefine contemporary fashion for a more conscious future.

MATERIALS & CRAFT
We place great importance on the quality and longevity of our materials.
Our textiles are sourced through long-standing relationships with trusted suppliers and makers, allowing us to maintain consistent quality while building lasting partnerships.
Where possible, we prioritise stock-service and dead-stock materials, giving existing textiles a new life and reducing the need for unnecessary production.
We also work closely with local craftspeople and textile specialists, preserving traditional techniques while exploring their potential within a contemporary context.

Our material selection is guided by three principles: responsibility, innovation and craftsmanship.
We seek textiles that are nature-inspired, thoughtfully developed or rooted in traditional making. The majority of our collections incorporate materials such as TENCEL™ Lyocell, organic cotton and bamboo-derived viscose, alongside innovative bio-based alternatives.
We pay particular attention to the responsible sourcing of animal-derived fibres. Where wool is used, we favour materials carrying recognised certifications such as GOTS or RWS, supporting higher standards of animal welfare and responsible production.
Leather is excluded from our collections, and we continue to explore innovative plant-based alternatives.

Our materials are sourced through specialist textile networks and exhibitions in Paris and Tokyo, including Première Vision and leading Japanese textile fairs, as well as through direct relationships with independent makers and traditional artisans.
For us, sustainability is not a single material or certification. It is an ongoing process of making considered choices, from the origin of a fibre to the craftsmanship that gives it a new life, and ultimately to how long a garment can remain meaningful in a wardrobe.

We are here to tell a story of the amazing textiles out there, such as luxurious Lyocell TENCEL TM textile with its silk-touch and anti-bacterial properties it is perfect for sensitive skin, the bio-based apple leather, the super soft and smooth bamboo viscose, recycled PET turned into outerwear, or to re-imagine a traditional crafted material in today's modern wardrobe such as the KAKISHIBU Kyoto-made persimmon fruit dye. The SHOHEI textile universe is expanding and we are excited to discover more materials for you.

TIMELESS DESIGN & AESTHETICS
Our design philosophy is rooted in creating pieces that transcend seasons and remain relevant over time.
Rather than following short-lived trends, SHOHEI develops a distinctive visual language shaped by a minimal yet unconventional aesthetic and a distinctly Japanese sensibility.
Our collections balance simplicity with playfulness, versatility with individuality, allowing each piece to be interpreted and worn in different ways. We are particularly interested in garments that can evolve with the wearer and remain part of a wardrobe beyond a single season.
A recurring element of our design practice is zero-waste construction, which we continue to explore and develop through new silhouettes, cutting techniques and ways of working with fabric.

MANUFACTURING & SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The character of SHOHEI is deeply connected to the skilled craftsmanship and long-standing manufacturing relationships we have built over the years.
Our collections are produced in close collaboration with our manufacturing partner in Ploiești, Romania, allowing us to maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail throughout the production process.
We also offer made-to-measure pieces and limited-edition collections throughout the year. This more flexible approach allows us to produce according to demand, minimise overproduction and avoid unnecessary stock becoming waste, a fundamental challenge within the fashion industry.
For SHOHEI, responsible production means making with intention, producing thoughtfully and valuing the people and skills behind every garment.

DISTRIBUTION & PACKAGING
Our distribution network is designed to balance reliable global delivery with considered logistics. We work with DHL Go Green for international shipments and DPD within the EU, while collaborating with local postal services for deliveries within Austria and Japan.
For our e-commerce packaging, we are proud to collaborate with Better Packaging, whose mailer solution incorporates certified recycled Ocean Bound Plastic.
By choosing packaging made from recovered materials, we aim to reduce our reliance on virgin resources while continuing to explore more responsible solutions for the final stage of a garment's journey.
As with our materials and manufacturing, we continuously review our packaging choices and look for ways to reduce unnecessary materials, extend the value of existing resources and move towards more circular solutions.

WEAR THE FUTURE WITH SHOHEI
