Discover the super natural textile dye made of persimmon fruit called 'kakishibu dye', which is a traditional craft originated and which is still practiced in Kyoto, Japan.

The capsule collection RESILIENCE is informed by the main material used, such as kakishibu dyed cotton. A living tradition which we encountered at a vintage market in Kyoto. (Read our blog-post to find out more) SHOHEI converts kakishibu dyed materials into authentic modern purist designs.

The Kyoto-made natural dye uses fermented tannin juice from unripe persimmon fruit. Each piece is unique with its brush-stroke hand-applied textile dye.

The material’s aesthetic lead to the explore abstract paintings and scribblings which then got applied in form of top-stitching and pattern making.

At SHOHEI, we are committed to delivering your order efficiently and responsibly.
We ship worldwide within 2–4 working days via DHL GoGreen, our carbon-compensated logistics partner.

  • Shipping within Japan and Austria is free of charge.
  • Shipping within the EU a flat fee of €18 applies.
  • For all other destinations, a flat shipping rate of €38 applies, automatically calculated at checkout.
  • Import taxes and duties are fully handled by SHOHEI, so you can enjoy a seamless delivery experience.
  • Due to rising shipping costs we do not accept any returns other than inside the EU and Japan.

Satisfied or refunded

For customers in Austria, SHOHEI will arrange the return via DPD. You will receive a prepaid return label by email to print and attach to your parcel.

For customers in Japan, returns can be made via Japan Post. Return shipping costs will be refunded upon receipt of the item.

Please note that free returns are currently available in Austria and Japan only. Due to rising shipping and tariff costs, we are unable to accept returns from outside the EU or Japan at this time.

The lead time for Pre-Order items is approximately 2–6 weeks, depending on the design and production schedule.
